This course teaches you skills and strategies to deal with a variety of oral and written communication tasks in a wide number of social situations in French speaking countries or with French speaking people. It includes a variety of learning activities aimed at developing vocabulary, grammatical accuracy (e.g. indicative, conditionnel and subjunctive modes) and different language skills, as well as critical thinking about intercultural differences.  Such activities include note taking while watching short films or during lectures, writing short essays on cultural topics, discussions following student presentations and reading of texts from various cultural spheres.
